Whitsundays Yacht Charter Suggested Itinerary (7 nights)
Below is a suggested itinerary for your Whitsundays bareboat charter holiday.
| DAY 1 |
PICK UP your bareboat charter yacht at Hamilton Island. A leisurely afternoon at Hamilton Island Resort to explore the myriad of shops, restaurants and bars this busy island has to offer. Try your hand at the many watersport options available, or go for a short walk up to the excellent fauna park. A late departure around to Cid Harbour once all has been stowed away. This all-weather harbour will be a very comfortable anchorage for the night.
OVERNIGHT - CID HARBOUR |
| DAY 2 |
SPEND the morning snorkelling or go for a wander along your own private beach. Perhaps a beach BBQ lunch on Sawmill Beach followed by a short sail across to Nara Inlet. This sheltered inlet is comfortable in any condition. Drop anchor later afternoon and cool off with a welcome swim.
OVERNIGHT - NARA INLET |
| DAY 3 |
ENJOY the day relaxing in this idyllic setting or go for a stroll through the natural bushland and the fascinating Aboriginal caves.
OVERNIGHT - NARA INLET |
| DAY 4 |
A SHORT hop around the western side of Hook Island and a chance for a glimpse of the newly renovated Hayman Island. If you have organised it the day before you could stop for a memorable lunch on this magnificent island resort. Early afternoon continue on to Butterfly Bay (top of Hook Island) for some of the best snorkelling and diving in the Whitsundays.
OVERNIGHT - BUTTERFLY BAY |
| DAY 5 |
SAIL around the eastern side to the Hook Island Underwater Observatory this morning, then on to Whitehaven Beach for a leisurely afternoon on this fabulous beach with its 4 miles of fine white silica sand. A glass of wine on the aft deck as the sun sets will be something to remember.
OVERNIGHT - WHITEHAVEN BEACH |
| DAY 6 |
AN exhilarating sail this morning to Palm Bay. This is a very attractive anchorage, being part of Long Island (also a National Park). Radio well ahead and you may get one of the moorings inside the lagoon and a spot for dinner. Now a Pepper's Resort, eating ashore is a gastronomic delight. Alternatively a short walk away is the family orientated - Long Island Resort.
OVERNIGHT - PALM BAY |
| DAY 7 |
WEIGH anchor for a short hop south to Club Med Lindeman Island. Recently renovated, the island now boasts a wonderful Polynesian style Club Med resort with brilliant views to the south. The mountain top golf course is renowned for some of the best outlooks in Australia.
OVERNIGHT - LINDEMAN ISLAND |
| DAY 8 |
AN EARLY start, for the sail back to Hamilton Island and reluctant farewells | NB: This is a suggested itinerary only and is, of course, subject to weather conditions and how much sailing you wish to do.
