Suggested Sailing Itinerary
OPUA/OPUA (7 NIGHTS)
Below is a suggested itinerary for your New Zealand bareboat charter holiday.
DAY 1
Depart Opua in the Bay of Islands for historic Russell aboard your bareboat charter. Anchor off the township for the night. While in Russell be sure and visit such historic sights as New Zealand's oldest pub, the Duke of Marlborough, the church and cemetery, museum and Police station. For those looking for a restaurant meal the Gables is a good choice.
OVERNIGHT - RUSSELL
DAY 2
A leisurely wake up and breakfast before setting sail for Roberton Island and the twin lagoons. Anchor in the top of the Bay for lunch and a walk to visit the "Pa" at the top. Late afternoon sail to Pipi Bay on Motorua Island for the night.
OVERNIGHT - MOTORUA ISLAN

DAY 3
Sail around the corner to Army Bay. For those who like hiking there is a great walk which takes approximately 2 hours right around Motorua Island. For the less hardy anchor across on Motukiekie and take the shorter walk across the top of the island. Both walks give you excellent views of the Bay of Islands.
Following lunch take a short sail to Urupukapuka Bay on Urupukapuka Island. An excellent Bay to have a BBQ ashore (fire restrictions permitting of course).
OVERNIGHT - URUPUKAPUKA ISLAND
DAY 4
Sail out through the Albert Channel, around the corner and into Oke Bay. A beautiful beach to laze on for the day.
OVERNIGHT - OKE BAY
DAY 5
Today is the day to visit Cape Brett and view the famous 'Hole in the Rock'. If you time your arrival right you might see some of the tour boats taking their guests through the hole.
Cape Brett is a great fishing spot - you never know you might get lucky! An afternoon sail to Paradise Bay on Urupukapuka Island for the evening.
OVERNIGHT - URUPUKAPUKA ISLAND
DAY 6
An afternoon sail back to Russell and a last visit ashore for dinner at the Duke of Marlborough Hotel.
OVERNIGHT - RUSSELL
