Why Choose a Yacht Charter Holiday in Turkey
I have to admit that Turkey has remained our favourite charter destination for over three decades- since we operated flotillas there in 1985. The key has always been the local Turkish people. Restaurateurs are entrepreneurial but genuine about wanting you to enjoy yourself – I know that Turkish people get great pleasure from serving and it is these experiences and interactions with the locals, that returning charterers rave about.

The Cruising Waters/ Conditions
Predominantly offshore North Westerlies, offer flat water and fast sailing along the southern coast. Both East and West of Marmaris are two separate areas with heavily indented gulfs and fjords that offer one or two restaurants in secluded bays.

The Gulf of Bodrum and Hisaronu, to the West and Fethiye Islands and Kekova to the East, also, one ways are very popular between these regions.

April to October covers the traditional sailing season with July and August the hottest months. Offshore north-easterly winds of 15-20 knots provide excellent sailing conditions for your yacht charter holiday in Turkey. No tides or currents.

Please call us and we can forward a variety of suggested sailing itineraries.

Getting There
From Australia- Singapore, Emirates, Etihad and Qantas offer flights to Istanbul. A short 50 minute domestic flight is then required to reach the southern airports of Bodrum and Dalaman.

Another way in, is via Athens and Rhodes, with a one way ferry into Marmaris. Travelling by car from Istanbul is also popular, stopping at Gallipoli, Ephesus and Pammukale – We can advise and help with travel tips and ideas to include overlands including Cappridocia and Istanbul, as we know Turkey intimately.

Local Cuisine

A mixture of nomadic traditions and Ottoman sultan sophistication: delightfully spicy mixed salads, stuffed aubergines, “kebab” served with pilaf rice and desserts: baklavas, pastry-cakes covered with honey and pistachios, loukoums, fresh or dried fruit. Not forgetting Turkish coffee and raki of course!

Yachts Available/ Bases

A wide variety of bareboats, 32-57’ monohulls and 38-52’ catamarans also a great choice of quality crewed catamarans, motor yachts and gulets from bases in Marmaris, Bodrum, Fethiye and Gocek.
