Match Racing (of sorts)

We often get asked to source two yachts (which are as close as possible to identical) for friends and family who love to include some informal competition or match racing amongst each other.

Often friends from the same yacht club who sail different boats but want to match up as they trim their sails on a passage race from anchorage to anchorage.

While some of the crew might be totally disinterested in this aspect of their holiday, the beauty of it is that they do not have to be involved. With sometimes only the Skipper tweaking their boats against each other.

We have booked 40’ monohull’s through to 45’ catamarans with this request for two or more identical vessels becoming even more common. We have booked groups on more performance yachts like Beneteau First’s but more often than not standard cruising yachts fit the purpose of adding a little competition to a relaxing holiday and I am sure much discussion at the end of the day when rafted up at cocktail hour.
